New EU legislation introduced on November 1st 2012 requires all new tyres to be labelled regarding fuel efficiency, wet grip and rolling road noise. These labels are similar to those seen on fridges & washing machines and give the consumer certain information regarding the characteristics of the tyre.

Good new this Spring has brought endorsement from 2 of our main suppliers. Valvoline Lubricants and Pagid Brake Systems have both independantly appointed us as their Service Centres for Cardiff. This might not seem big news but for today's cars correct lubricants are of paramount importance. We now stock on site 5 grades of engine oil - Traditionals one graded fitted all but no longer. Today it is imperative the right oil is used as premature wear and serious vehicle damage can occur if incorrect lubs are used.
This year we are taking our Training to a new level to keep up with the ever increasing advance of Auto-Technology. Andrew & Mike Lisles have already completed Courses on Hybrid Engine Technology, equipping us to work on Toyota Prius & much more. Theres is more to come too - Watch this space
Again looking to the future to make certain we are able to maintain all vehicles, Andrew Ferris & Mike Lisles be looking at Hybrid Vehicle Technology on the forthcoming courses at Coleg Glan Hafren.
Hybrid cars use a combination of the 'traditional' petrol engine and an electric motor to minimise emissions. They are currently available in the shape of the Toyota Prius, Honda Insight plus there are several models from Lexus. Hybrid cars will also soon be available from most Manufacturers including Peugeot, Landrover, Volkswagen and Volvo.
To help ensure we keep up to the mark Ferris Bros will be closed on Wednesday 30th March as we will all be travelling to Exeter for the latest Mechanex Trade Show.
