In the Beginning
The business was started in 1946 by brothers, John, Francis & Charles Ferris in premises annexed to W E Vaughans Laundry in Canton Cardiff. In 1986 the business was being operated by Charles Ferris & wife Pam who were joined by son Andrew. Sadly both Charles and Pam have now passed away, Charles in 2011 at the age of 89 and Pam in 2017 at the age of 96.

Andrew Ferris BSc AAE MIMI
Andrew joined his parents at the Romilly Crescent workshop in 1986 following completing his Mechanical Engineering degree at Brunel University (BSc) in 1983 & several years as a Research Engineer at the Ford Motor Company Research Centre at Dunton in Essex. Andrew could see the value of training to the business & has completed numerous courses (See below) plus has been an active member of the Institiute of the Motor Industry of whom he is a member (MIMI) and is accredited as an Advanced Automotive Engineer (AEE). Andrew also passed his Advanced Driving Test in 1998 & is an active member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM).
Andrew now runs Ferris Bros following the retirement of his parents, whilst his main role is reception and management of the business he is very often found in the workshop.

Mike Lisles CAE AMIMI
Mike Lisles joined Ferris Bros in 1990 soon after completing his Apprenticeship in his native Sussex. Since joining the business he has completed numerous training courses to become the consummate technician
Mike also achieved Associate Membership of the Institute of the Motor Industry (AMIMI) in 1993, Certified Automotive Engineer (CAE) in 1995 & Motor Industry Master Technician NVQ4 in 2008. He also passed his Advanced Driving Test in 2000 & is an active IAM member.
Mike is a happily married to Cathy & has two children. Along with motor industry interests, he enjoys caravanning and coaching & refereeing junior rugby with his local club in Rhydfelin near Pontypridd.
